|Brighton and Hove Albion are targeting a move for Reading’s Liam Moore.
According to a report in the Mirror maxbet (live transfer thread 6;18pm) Brighton and Hove Albion are looking to follow up their £5.25 million signing of striker Florin Andone with the addition of Reading defender Liam Moore.
Brighton have made a busy start to the transfer window, signing Nigerian defender Leon Balogun from Mainz before making a move for Deportivo La Coruña striker Andone in a cut-price deal.
Manager Chris Hughton isn’t ready to take his foot of the peddle as he looks to strengthen his Brighton squad, and Reading defender Moore is reportedly next on his shopping list.
The former Leicester City defender only signed a new four-year deal with Reading last summer, and over the past two seasons he has become one of the best centre-backs outside the Premier League.
Moore played a key part in Reading’s run to the playoff final in the 2016/17 campaign, and this past maxbet season he started all 46 Championship matches – averaging 7.3 clearances per game.
The 25-year-old would add greater depth to Brighton’s defensive ranks, with crowd favourite Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy the current preferred centre-back pairing.
The report goes on to say that Brighton have made an undisclosed approach for the defender, though it doesn’t say how much the Royals would be willing to accept in order to part with their star player.
Reading boss Paul Clement will be hopeful of strengthening his side this summer following a disappointing campaign and receiving a sizeable fee for Moore could allow him to make several new additions. maxbet
